Why in the F is Louisiana selling water to Texas? Doesn’t Texas own half this lake? Anyone know the facts of this? Good idea? Terrible idea? There is a meeting on 24 July 25, 1:00pm at Cypress Bend Resort open to the public.

Everything has a price.
Forty million people in Texas. Four and a half in Louisiana.

I got that, but how many lakes we passing in Texas to get to Toledo Bend? I heard this pipeline will be mostly going to the DFW area.

There is a ton of big money buying up water rights and installing wells across LA and ARK to sell to TX. In 5 years there are going to be small towns all across Ark and LA up shits creek with no water and no recourse due to this. We reviewed a pitch 2 weeks ago seeking to fill out the needed 50M in funding. Very competitive and a lot of private money throwing in on it.

I wonder where Houston gets water. There are six million people down there.

Lake Houston, Conroe and Livingston supply most of it.

You do know the SRA has been selling water for 50 years.
Industry in SW La and SW Tx receive water from the SRA canals running all over the area.

Really I thought that just started in 2008 and it was small amounts compared to what they want to do with this proposal? Didn’t this exact same proposal get tabled the last time they brought it up?

SRA is the Water Mafia
Also, don’t build shite on Toledo without asking the SRA and paying the freight.

Tried this back in the 90's and I met one of the lawyers working on it for Dallas. Sabine River Authority also runs Lake Fork, and guess what, it's only an hour away. It's the headwater for the Sabine River.

Toledo was built for water and electricity

Fishing and recreation is low priority

It’s been talked about for years. I’ve gone to many of the meetings. I’m a landowner who would be affected . I really don’t see it happening . The parameters are impossible to stay within. To think they could tell Texas that “the lake is too low to send you any” is stupid. Tx needs to change their laws and allow themselves to draw water from Fork and Tawakoni before it gets to TB. That’s what’s going to happen. It would still affect our lake levels but in a different way.

There is a big ole water plant on Fork that sends water to Dallas. Been there for years. Why do you think Fork is always low? I suspect as much for Tawakoni.
