Is it an old one? I have never shot an older one.
Bought a new 1 a little while back, and was disappointed. Traded it off.

Are the new ones not as good like the 870s? I have a 10/22 from the mid 90s and it's always been solid.

Probably, my problem is my old jed clampett looking remmington 550-1

that thing will put every shot inside a 3 inch circle at 100 yards. I have a couple of other old 22 rifles that are close to that too.

I bought a new Ruger 10/22 and a savage 10 shot 22, they were not even close to as good. both belong to somebody else now.

I have a 10/22. I put a tactical solutions barrel, hogue overmold stock and a new trigger in it.

It’s about a 1 hole gun at 50yds. Plus with that barrel, it’s crazy light.

I am an Off the shelf guy.
That trigger replacement that I did the other day, that's the first mod I have ever done that wasn't a repair somehow.
Always worked with what I have, or traded it.

This board is DANGEROUS.

That’s fun and best thing about the 10/22. You can change it and make it better much like an AR.

The Ruger AR556 and S&W M&P15 Sport are the two best entry ARs on the market. Amazing value for right around $600-$700.

I just haven't had much luck on accuracy on the few rifles that I have owned from them.

The AR556 and M&P15 barrels are very high quality and are known to give sub-MOA accuracy easily with good ammo. Go watch NutNfancy’s reviews of both rifles. He even got one of them to shoot American Eagle 5.56 at an inch and that is some very inaccurate ammo.

I've got about 20 magpul magazines for my two AR's. I only load 28 rounds in the 30 round mags and haven't had an issue.

Magazine springs don’t weaken from being compressed. They fatigue from being compressed and decompressed. You can leave ammo jammed in a mag for a year and the spring shouldn’t lose any of its strength. Where you’ll see them weaken is with repeated use.

For what it’s worth, I used to only shoot Pmags exclusively until adding a couple Lancers to the rotation recently. I’ve never worn out a magazine spring and I’ve easily shot thousands of rounds through them. Come to think of it, I have never worn out a magazine spring. All my pistol mags still run fine and my rifle mags too. It takes a long time for a modern magazine spring to go bad.

As for some really old USGI metal mags, I’m not surprised that you worse them out.

yeah, but, My old Ar-15 was perfect, back when it was all Colt. It got busted up and I replaced the lower to keep it going. It still shot better than any other AR that I have seen, but I started noticing that hard trigger, thanx to this board.

Really though, It will probably cut groups size in half.

With all the aftermarket trigger options for ARs these days it still baffles me that guys run milspec triggers for years. All you need is $100 and your options for triggers are numerous. The days of needing $300 for an improved trigger are over. Yes, premium triggers can be expensive but an improved trigger is very affordable.

The 1 I did was 175 bucks, but it was an easy install.
Can't think of the brand off the top of my head, and am not at home right now. That's where the info is.

I don't want to do things like that too much though.
Prefer rifles that do the job, right out of the box.

Well, I should probably say that I’ve built all of mine and 2 were 80% lowers.

I only have the 1 AR-15, I bought it new, in 1983 I think.

That's the only tactical type rifle that I own.
