I'm not down south and I know y'alls growing season is different that mine, but would rice planted this late ever actually make it to the point of producing a grain? If he is planting the rice, but not harvesting it then he probably isn't putting down fertilizer, fungicide, insecticide either. I'm just thinking the chance of any bait being on the ground is slim to none.

Supposedly we will kill teal at a good clip. When they leave there will be a lull until later in the year. Last year they did well..

I had a thread on here last year after getting screwed on a ticket. You’d worry too if you came outta pocket over a grand for a bullshite ticket. It cost a lot of money, and now I doubly make sure I’m legal.

I don’t know shite about growing rice. I’ve learned a lot over the past few days, but hard to find info on rice being planted this late. I’ve got to think he’s growing it to head... why plant it if you don’t want it to grow?

If you're wanting to be 100% in the clear I would call ldwf and get their input. Duck hunting over unharvested crops is tricky business.

The one thing I would be weary about is if he makes some passes with crawfish boat and it knocks the heads down and causing grains to float. I dont know if FWS would consider that "normal agricultural" and therefore would probably be a baited field.
