Rekluse clutch for dirtbike.

Anyone have one of these? The auto version. Got the kid the 110 Honda dirtbike and I guess the next step is me getting one. I really like the auto clutch in his 110. I'm not racing anyone or anything, will strictly be woods/trails like towertrax.
Thinking of a crf250f or something like that. Don't need to kill myself on a 450 and it's been a bit since I had a 600 streetbike.

I've been reading a bit over there. Just seeing if anyone here has used one.
I've seen a couple bikes for sale locally that have them installed.

I had one on my CRF250R and honestly it never worked correctly. It still would stall when i slowed down. I tried adjusting it numberour times and it would still stall. Honestly, i'd get a bike with a hyrdraulic clutch either from the factory or you install it after the fact. My son's KX250 has it and it is really nice. Reachout and ask the guys who have one for sale if it really works. Learining a clutch is not bad, but the harder it is to pull will tire you out quickly.
Oh and the CRF250F bike is perfect for following him around. I still ride our 110 and it is a blast. Lots of aftermarket products available to make then a little more powerful and handle better.

I have one in my KTM450. I think every bike I have or had for the last 15 years has had one. Awesome product.

Been awhile since I raced, but if I recall correct, there are two versions (or more). One that gives you the same clutch feel and one that bypasses the clutch lever entirely. I never liked them when I was racing, but for non racing scenarios, I could see them being beneficial.
I ran a flywheel weight on the two stroke and that helped keep it from stalling at lower RPMs but not sure what effect it would have on a 4 stroke.

I have a WR450F and ride trails/towertrax etc. For what you describe the WR250F would be perfect. Very forgiving, wide ratio transmission, soft suspension, easy to putt putt or rip when you wanna etc.
ETA: Prior to WR450F I had a rekluse on my YZ250F. The WR450F w/ factory clutch is a far better trail riding experience. With the appropriate bike for your use case I think you'll find the rekluse to be unnecessary (atleast I did)

I've had one bike with a rekluse and I hated it. Sold it quicker than any bike I've ever owned. It's just not for me.
My dad on the other hand, who doesn't ride as hard as he used to, loves them. He's had them on all his most recent bikes.
Not sure how much power you're needing, but a CRF is slow as dirt.
Not knocking it because they are reliable, but man they are lacking in the power department.

Ill probably just ride it stock for a while and see what happens, I'm not jumping anything. The kid can do that if he wants.
The autoclutch on his 110 just makes it easy. Thats what got me looking at this stuff. No clutch to dump or stall.

I my Dad had one on his crf450. I'd never ridden one before that. I had to borrow his bike and it turned out to be a mud race. User error on my end as a dumb kid but I think I was a gear high and didnt know it due to mud and the clutch slipping itsself automatically. It ended up blowing a hole in the engine case. I'll stick with a regular clutch , haha.

I have 2 dirt bikes. One is a Kawasaki KX250 2 stroke and one is a Yamaha TTR 225 4 stroke. The TTR 225 is heavy but is great in the woods because it has a low seat height.
Try riding the CRF250F with the stock clutch, get some seat time, and you may not need the rekluse auto ($900-$1000)
Friends that have a rekluse clutch like it but I didn’t feel a need for one.
