If your yard is small enough to buy one of these, you can probably get by with using a battery powered weed eater. My $0.02.

My yard is probably about .75 acre cutting area but no trees or other obstacles (besides a fence/toys). Pretty flat. I watched a couple youtube vids and i think i could make it work.

Yes. Set a boundary. The units are very quiet and can cut at night or whenever. It only cuts a little off at at time so your yard is always the same height

Set a boundary
seems cumbersome. flower beds, hopping side walks driveways, front yards backyards fences... i'm a bigger yard variety so i wouldn't really be an ideal fit regardless. i'm not comfortable having a mower in my house smarter than me.

I don't have any direct experience with any of the robomowers but I have seen a fleet of the Husqvarnas at work. There's a 350 acre boutique get-away-from-the-city type place between Houston and Austin that runs 8-10 of the Husqvarnas on the ~25 acres that are improved. I have to say that those machines keep that lawn immaculate. All night long there are little LED lights running all over the place putting in work...silently. If I had enough yard to justify the expense, I'd have some myself. I can only imagine the realized savings that property has in both dollars and man hours. My .02

@AutoYes_Clown

Well you're in luck! iRobot is coming out with their robot mower soon and it will blow all others out of the water. Plus it comes with a remote control if you wanna do it that way! Lol

You'll regret this decision when Skynet becomes self-aware.

I sell a few robomowers which is another brand.
The installer puts a small metal wire in the ground and the charging station has to have access to an outside plug.

Metal wire to mark boundaries.

Made for 1/2 acre or less.

It takes awhile to get use to.
They work fine and are common in Europe.

Husqvaran and Robomowers are huge players in Europe in this industry.

Bigger ones for golf courses do fine also it is the same technology.
