Replacing weatherstripping on a trailer door. OEM replacement is not adhesive backed but does require gluing in some locations.

I want to use "mild" waterproof glue that won't be a PITA to remove or leave a mess if/when i need to replace weatherstripping again.

I see Permatex and 3M have a black glue for weatherstripping . Anyone use that?

I do plan to contact the trailer manufacturer to see what they use....

3M 4200. You can remove it with a little effort. Best waterproof adhesive on the market IMO

If this is a reinstallation of the door you need Butyl Tape. If you're just filling holes then yeah, 4200 will work great.

It's replacing the weatherstrip/gasket on a trailer door. It is held in place by a rib on the gasket into a slot on the door but a few places require an adhesive.

Look into 3M vhb (VERY HIGH BOND) tape, prep is huge when bonding any material. Go the the 3M website, they have a bonding agent that will work. Granger will probably have any 3M product or can order what you need.
