I use a kershaw leek because I love the assist, but the only downside is the thin tip

Came across this gem. I love the look about it and seems to be a decent knife. Anybody have any experience with this brand?

I carry a Kershaw Kuro. Very nice, light, Tanto blade. I love the assisied opening. Seems the easiest to open without cutting yourself.

I have no experience with CRKT. Steel choice is a matter of opinion. I like AUS-8 just fine, but it won't hold an edge like the more expensive steels. Usually I'm not a fan of serrations, but they're useful for cutting things like rope. If you need serrations, partially serrated is the way to go IMHO.

I love this knife, but I hardly think it's such a slam dunk.

It is compared to pretty much every other suggestion so far. OTF's are not practical EDC's and I own a custom single action OTF that uses a licensed copy of the same mechanism Mircotech uses (they didn't invent it either). This knife has plenty of blade, solid lock up, bronze washers instead of the usual teflon, great finish that actually has some bite for the grip, strong pocket clip that is reversible for the unfortunate lefties out there, and a great steel. Fit and finish are as excellent as it gets and the only knife I own that might exceed that is my Socom Elite Auto. If you are going to spend the money between a Paramilitary 2 or a 940 Axis then I think the 940 is money better spent.
