Recommend a small scope for a M&P 22 sport

Got this gun for my son (and lets not joke for me too) for his bday in the spring. I want to get him a scope but nothing too crazy. Would like to spend less than 100. I know you cant get anything to great for that just want something that is serviceable and reliable. TIA

for a .22 for a kid, there are some nice options in the $50 range at academy.

I have a UTG bug buster 3-9x32 compact RGB illuminated scope on my KelTec CMR30. Haven't got to used it much but its pretty compact.

The bug buster does feel solid. It has quick discontents too but I dont know if they return to zero...havent tried it yet.

I have a bushnel trs25 on my 15-22 but will switch that and the big buster around depending what I want to shoot at.
