Houseboat off of Batiste Collette, had electricity, wake up before sunrise, splash some cold water on my face, drink some orange juice, go outside and jump in the flat-out, take a 10-15 minute boat ride to the blind. Hunt till mid morning, go back to houseboat, fix breakfast, then take nap. Wake up and if the river was low like it often is in the fall, sit on the back deck and catch bass and redfish and drink beer.

I wonder if they covered Fighting Bayou hunting club

I’ve been invited to hunt there. Nice place but it’s hardly hunting.

They cut lanes through a large block of woods and built a levee around it and flood it with pumps. Have canals from woods to the camp with boats parked. Team of chefs to cook, pay a guy to clean your game. If the hole you choose to hunt isn’t getting enough action they have a guy who goes and runs the ducks out of other holes towards you.

When I was a toddler my dad ran a catfish farm that bordered their property and they raised hell about the workers running cormorants off the ponds. Said the gunshots hurt their hunts. You can’t let thousands of cormorants just eat fish, but they kept being dicks toward my dad for doing his job. He got fed up and lined up 24 butane cannons on the back of the ponds pointing towards fighting bayou and let them fire off every 30 seconds 24/7 until they finally left him alone
