Looking to purchase a new shotgun. I've shouldered the following:
Stoeger m3000 ($399 at cabelas this weekend) and m3500 ($599 academy)
Winchester sx3 ($780+FFL grabagun.com)
Beretta a300 ($778 academy)
ATA venza ($530 academy)
Benelli montefeltro ($799 academy)
Remington v3 ($749 academy)

The sx3 and a300 feel the best in my hands.

Will also look at a versa max.

Also, thoughts on camo dip vs black.

ETA: updated with prices

I like the A300 out of those and have been eyeing it myself. Not that I really need it.

I can't really rank them, but my experience with the SX3 has been positive. It's a great shooter. I want to kill the Duratouch finish with fire though. It's just awful.

I have an SX3, love it. The SX4 is out.
I have Max 4 camo. I really like the Bottomland though. It has held up well. I had an SX2 with DuraTouch. If it is still an option, I probably would not get it.
Get what feels best.

Beretta A300 are common in Argentina for dove hunting. Lodge we stayed at had only Berettas. Owner said Beretta was the most reliable gun and 5hats why they use them. They get a full season out of a gun with minor repairs.

If I told you how much we shot in 3 1/2 days you probably wouldn’t believe it. It was a lifetime of duck and goose hunting and then some. First one I bought back in 95 and now have 2 more all synthetic. Best semi auto I have ever used.

Good luck

I think the montefeltro is in a different class than the rest of those.

But that’s just like, my opinion man.

Benelli montefeltro

I have one and can highly recommend it. I tried a bunch when I was looking and am not disappointed in this one. To me it was well ahead of all others in this price range.

He could include that if he wanted, but the Montefeltro is in a league of its own when it comes to shotguns under $1000. Lower that to around $850 and the field opens up a lot but if you’re willing to get close to $1000 the answer is unquestionably the Benelli.

I did a bunch of research on the semiautomatics under 1K and came to the conclusion that, for the popular brands you are pretty much getting the same shot at a reliable shotgun. Which basically means it comes down to a personal preference for how they shoulder and fit you. Personally I was dead set on the A300 and after playing with the guns for over an hour I changed to an SX3 on the basis of how it shoulders for me (and how I personally disliked how the beretta handled). Do what feels right for you; the guns you mentioned are all good guns.

Out of those, without a doubt the Montefeltro.

Other than that I like the Franchise Affinity
