Saw 2 Martins on & in my housing in Baton Rouge on Wednesday Jan 17 in the middle of the hard freezes. Gourds and compartments already had pine needles in them, but they have nothing to eat - no insects flying around.

Anybody else seeing them yet? In the past, my first ones normally arrive around Jan 22 - 27.

Seems early, but I always think it is too early to see them.

Wow, never seen any here that early. Pretty sure Feb 1 is my earliest. I usually see them in Avoyelles before Rapides.

I’ve had four pair for about a week. I’ve got 24 gourds and they’re slammed packed full every year. Love to watch ‘em fly.

My mom said she had a couple scouts during the hard freeze but hasn't seen any since.

Exactly what I need. Another migratory bird to track and attempt to attract.

I have a friend that lives on a lake that's really into it with a huge set up of houses and gourds.

My yard situation will not allow me to attract them. Fortunately, my backyard neighbor and one of my side door neighbors get them erry year. So, I get the birds and don't have to do shite.
