I can’t hardly ever get these to fit, I have bought dozens. The ones with the little plastic bubble almost fit great until I made that fatal last trim. Anyone else have these issues? I’d there somewhere u can go to get these fit or where someone can look at you. I am getting my teeth etc fixed but not in time for this year

Even those little tiny ones don't fit? I can't find a pic online, but the bigger brands like Primos or someone makes a mouth call that is like half the size of traditional ones. I'm sure you can get them custom made also.

What's the issue with your teeth? It should be your top of your mouth?

My 8 yr old daughter has her own mouth calls. Doesn't sound great but they're the little small frame HS Strut 2.5 reed I trimmed down. If you are having teeth moved for a mouth call you are either using it wrong or have more of a dental problem than I am envisioning.

Diaphragm calls can be tricky at first. First, you need to know what type cut to use. This all depends on where your channel of air is for your particular pallet. Center = ghost cut, right of center is a combo cut or bat wing, and left of center is a reverse combo cut or bat wing.

Regarding fit to the mouth, I usually try to minimize the bend in the call, but sometimes I find a slight bend will allow it to fit in your mouth better. Some calls come pre-cut with a jig, but many you need to trim to get a better fit. I also need to slightly adjust the location of my tongue for some calls. Go watch this video for a better explanation of how to find the best call for your mouth. I also find that once I've used them for awhile they seem to fit better. Kind of a break in period.

I like mouth calls mainly because I like to bow hunt a few times a year, you can kill just about any turkey with a slate and box if you have that much trouble

Put up a half blind in front of you and sit in a low turkey chair.

Hooks Game Calls has a small frame version. These are great for people that traditionally have to cut down mouth calls.

I would receive starting younger hunters with these.
