Privacy Shrub

I'm looking to plant about 30 feet of privacy shrubs between my neighbor and me this spring. I have looked at Oleander but most nurseries do not have it right now. I would prefer something that at least flowered but it seems that to maintain winter leaves there are few choices. Anyone have advice?

I would like six to eight feet just to block their view and create more privacy.

What about a holly? no flowers but they have red berries. Stay green year round.

Bottlebrush are green year round and flower multiple times.

I planted some about a month ago. Verify between the different species for size characteristics if you settle on bottlebrush. Some grow taller than others.

Wax myrtles FTW. They grow thick and fast, they're evergreen, and they will grow to 15' for those wanting a Trump-style wall between them and their neighbors. They will grow in standing water as well as rock hard clay. They'll withstand drought and you can't over water them. Pretty much maintenance free or you can trim them into a formal hedge if you like.

I would wait and get oleander. Ever green and looks great when flowering. Grows fast!
Where are you located?

My dad had a bunch of oleander delivered to him last year that was already 5 ft tall, pick whatever color you want, not sure about $. Can ask where and if they deliver to Monroe. We live in bossier.

They are considered an evergreen however every single oleander in the Baton Rouge area died off after the arctic outbreak in January. They are slowly coming back, though.

Lost my oleander this winter. Great plant but it may not tolerate freezing. I’d be careful using it for privacy as you may lose your investment during a harsh winter.
Bottle brush is nice, loropetalum is good to consider as well. I’ve used Elaeagnus several times and loved it. Very dense and fast growing with interest silverish foliage.

Ligustrum or red tips although they don’t really flower.

You checked with Roach’s in Sterlington? I bought around 100 eleagnus a couple years back from him for a privacy hedge.

Ive been looking at the sweet verbinums. They are an evergreen as well and grow thick as hell. I ordered about 40 plants and will probably order another 40 next year.
