Been using GIS, MODIS and several other sties to see satellite imagery for a while. Found this one a few weeks ago and it's a beast. The resolution is the best as well.
It's a little tricky at first to get going but you guys make Lowrance map cards so shouldn't be a problem. I'll link it up with the latest imagery for the Breton sound area for you to take a test drive.

Sentinel

If you scroll out enough you can see the flight path the satellite took. I think this is coming from Amazons new Satellite. Imagery updates for every area around every 4-5 days.

Sentinel does have better spatial resolution, but the temporal resolution is lacking. I prefer MODIS for more up to date looks. The 250m isn't great, but good enough.

I don't like updates every 4-5 days. I like updates daily.

That being said, the resolution is definitely better.

I agree. If you're just looking for where clean water is then Modis is better.

You can zoom well inside 250 miles, and the resolution will get better up to a certain point.

Am I dumb? I can't find any satellite images for any of Louisiana. What am I doing wrong?

Modis is better, until it has blank areas and color quality issues

hit search, enter in dates on the calender drop downs, i usually go last 5 days. A bunch of blocks will pop up for the area.Click a box then once the pop up happens click visualize.

The "m" in 250m is for meters.

Huh... turns out I am dumb

However, when I zoom in it's not clear at all. Is there a mode that I can use to get clear images?

Tell me more about MODIS. Is it a pay site/app?

I use global mapper a lot because I need images to be exportable to load into other programs, but always looking for better imagery.

Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer
Temporal resolution is 1-2 days, but the best spatial resolution is 250m (good enough for water quality checks)

You can access the data free.

If you look at today's image you will see a good example of the glare that often results in not being able to distinguish clearly the water clarity if the area you are searching is affected.
