Good evening

I hope you are being careful in this heat. We had an amazing spring with about 10 days of perfect weather when the oak trees were blooming. Until this recent stifling heat wave, we had moderate temps and regular rain.

I walk 4 miles each morning on a wooded country road. Recently, I took my binoculars and every white oak I've observed has been loaded. The few storms we've had, blew down many red oak branches. Though the red oaks are lagging behind the white oaks, every red oak branch I've observed has also been loaded.

I believe we are in for a bountiful acorn crop in Lafayette County, AR. My report is for an area around Lake Erling.

Safe scouting and hunting.

Last year the white oaks were so heavy in our local nat forest that is was difficult to pattern the deer. They hardly had to move to eat.

I think that was last year

Thx for the report, Blanding. It sounds like we're practically neighbors, although I hunt on private land near Village, AR.

I lived in Magnolia for 10 years before retiring from SAU and moving to Walker's Creek. Very familar with the Village area - stay safe.

I had the same problem. The hogs were moving like crazy, though. I couldnt get away from them.

I’m not far from either of you guys. I’m north of Homer and and my sawtooth oaks are loaded as well. They fall super early, usually right before and during bow season.
