My dad is interested in installing a power pro on his bass boat. where is the best place to purchase one and have it installed in the baton rouge area? I think his is a 21' aluminum bass tracker.

I don't know the answer to your question, but while he's waiting for the answer, I'd be watching youtube videos of different ways to mount it.

There's going to be a couple different ways that he should think about before whoever he hires makes that decision for him.

It's a great addition to a boat. On the two boats that I've had with them, you can anchor about 2' less than the stated length of the pole. (You can anchor in 6' of water with an 8' pole)

I wouldn't think it'd be that hard to install, but I realize that time is more valuable than dollars sometimes.

I could rec The Prop Shop in Lafayette. I'm sure you'll get good recs here for BR though.

You're the first person I've seen that has had both and favors the Talon. Have they updated?

Updated? Not following.

My preference to Talons are:

1 - they go straight up & down so if you're backing into a location for whatever reason it's easier to deploy.
2 - no hydraulic reservoir or fluid lines
3 - more "mechanical" than PP
4 - bc they have 3 piece poles the overall size is smaller

The downside to the normal talons is they don't fold to get out the way. But they now offer models that are no taller than the motor..

But they are ugly. Power poles look sleeker.

But customer service is top notch with power pole.

Power poles can be messy if you spring a leak and you can expect at some point the pump will give you problems.

99.9% sure the folding brackets for PP will fit Talons but you're right the newer Talons aren't nearly as tall as PP.
