We have two feeders that go off twice a day (I think) There's almost no activity at all when feeders go off except for some turtles.

If the river flooded your pond, you have way more in there than catfish and what's left of your fingerlings.

I bet the gar had a field day when the flooding happened.

Definitely this. You have gar fish, shad, shewww pick and no telling what else.

You need to call LDWF to come out and shock it but you can also put or a hoop net with some artificial crawfish bait. Do that and you can go back 10 hours later and have an answer.

I trapped some for a friend who had a 1 acre lake that was overpopulated. I'd catch 200 in a 10 hour set.

After reading OP's replies I'd call LDWF as well. They came out to my place and were very helpful. Shocking it will give him an answer.

Ours too.

And based on what he's said, I'm pretty sure they will tell him it's overtaken with trash fish and he needs to drain it and start over. BUT, not knowing more about his situation, the rising river intrusion concerns me.

What were you catching?

Thanks again for the replies. Our pond is in Mississippi off the Escatawpa River. We'll give the MDWF a call and see what can be done. Sounds like a drain might be necessary

Bream. Perfect size for the river...had it been legal to using that method to take them.

Gar and catfish preyed on the few that survived the washout. Pretty sure there was a small feeding frenzy during.
