Renting a beach house in late March for 4-5 days. Wife and two boys 5 & 8. Brought the boys up freshwater fishing (bass, catfish, bream etc.) I used to saltwater fish when I was a boy.

Best tactics for surf fishing for reds?
Bridge or roadside fishing for specs/reds?
Can we put out crab traps?

Basically anything to keep them occupied. Thanks in advance. Will not be bringing a boat.

Thought about that, and still might. But was going to try and keep it close to home base in case they got bored.

Words can not explain how much I cringe every time I see "learn me". That is by far the most ignorant statement in existence.

Irregardless, I could care less.

You can probably find a half-day inshore charter.

If I am delicate because I don't want to stare at learn me threads posted all over a board that others already try to attack then sue me.

For the record charter a trip. You will have a ton of fun and your boys will remember the trip for the rest of their lives.

Thanks. I've decided on a charter trip for one day, if nothing else to give the wife some time to relax. Now to fill the other 3 days... lol

This, and if they still let you fish Fourchon Beach park and walk towards the jetties and fish past the barges.

You can also look into a Yak trip with a guide if economics is a concern. I forget the guys name but someone on here can help you out. Calm Waters I think is the name of the charter business.

I'll more than likely be there. Hit me up closer. I'll take you and your kids for a half day or so.

That would be Capt. Danny Wray. He recently lost his wife, Captain Kristen Wray, to cancer and I'm not sure he's up and running again yet but if he is, you won't find a better kayak charter in Louisiana.

Incredible time when I went with them right when they were getting started. Had heard she was sick.

Terrible news. Nicest people ever.
