I dropped this on the travel board as well but received better info from this board than travel in the past on Montana. That being said, we are flying into Bozeman and staying at a lodge in Paradise Valley but are coming in a couple of days early and wanted to find a cool town to stay. Might just stay in Bozeman but also looking at Big Timber, West Yellowstone and looking for other options. Stayed in Livingston last year and enjoyed ...

We stayed in Bozeman the night before we flew our. Cool town to look around in, but no idea how the Rona is going there.

Bozeman is a great town. Been there a ton the last few years. Very cool around the university downtown.
Eat at blackbird, it’s incredible
ETA: where you going in PV? Uncle bought some land there a couple yrs ago near emigrant, hence why I’ve been going up there a ton. Killed my first mulie and got on my first elk in PV 2 falls ago. Gorgeous area. Fly fished the park a good bit too.
The “sage” I think it’s called lodge is very very nice

We are staying at Hubbards closer to Gardiner. We were in the valley last year and fell in love with it. We are fishing, Orvis lodge...

I've never been. Is it more of a resort town? Anyone been to Ennis or Three Forks?

Livingston has some really neat shops and great summer theater. Either there or Bozeman make great hubs for fly fishing trips.

It is. I stayed at the ski resort. Mountain biked, hiked. Fishing, rafting, golf also available. Great scenery. The drive from Bozeman is cool too.
I agree that Bozeman would be a cool place to stay. Some decent restaurants, good shops, cool vibe. I love that area of the country and would head that way tomorrow if I could convince my wife and kids.

Ennis is a cool little town. There's a little cafe there that serves a good breakfast called yesterdays. A good place to wade fish right outside of Ennis is Valley Garden. Spent a week in a camper there before. It's a small town. Short drive to West Yellowstone, and Quake Lake.

I would stay in Bozeman and spend a at least an evening exploring. There are a couple of really good restaurants, and in summer you normally have the rodeo too.
My favorite stop will always be the Western Cafe though, it’s a traditional diner on Main Street. It was my go to for breakfast when I was kid, and it’s still exactly the same.
Bozeman is transitioning from the sleepy cow town it used to be. But I will alway love it.
If you wanted to be active, you could hike the M, and get a good view of the town and the valley.

Understandable. Such a shame that libtards will come in and ruin another area.

They’re just as bad in their own way unfortunately

My son and I stayed at an AirBnB last summer when we fished the Lower Madison. What a fantastic town, wish we’d had more than a long weekend. The previous trip going to the park, we stayed at a AirBnB outside of Livingston. Both places were on ranches and the scenery was beautiful and the prices and accommodations perfect for the two of us.

They were originally Californians and then moved to Colorado and now SW Montana so blame it all on California
