Got into a discussion with a guy at work about truck mounts for a pistol. He says that if a police officer saw it during a traffic stop he would freak out and take you out. I have one and it’s faster to get to my pistol then reaching for my conceal and trust me I’ve practiced.

Are y’all pro or anti truck mount?

This is the mount I use.

1) If you get pulled over, just take it out and put it in the center console.

2) Give the LEO your CCL and act like a functioning adult.

3) Profit...

Id just leave it there and put your hands on the wheel. Dont go reaching for anything and wait until they ask you for something.

Reaching and shuffling stuff while being pulled over is a good way to searched or shot.

If you have a flat top slide like a Glock get this mount. Easy to install and I mounted mine to the right under the steering column. Easy to get to and out of sight.

frick that lol, I'm not messing with anything and fumbling with a gun when he stops me. Hands on steering wheel or hands on ceiling or hands outside window. Best way to avoid the guy putting a canoe through you.

As long as you don't leave it in there when you're not in the truck, I'm good. Don't feed the criminals. Otherwise, man, you do you.

I’m considering getting one of those Vulcan mounts that mount under your steering column and you can rack the slide with.

And for those mentioning concealment, there is no ‘concealment’ in a vehicle in Louisiana. It’s more about possession. If your gun is in your immediate reach then it’s considered possession. If it’s in a locked console/glove box or trunk then it’s not. But regardless, CCL doesn’t come into play in a vehicle. I just took my concealed carry class and the guy teaching is law enforcement and we had a good long conversation about vehicles.

I personally have mine. Punted down underneath the dash mounted horizontally. It’s beside my right leg and within easy reach.

But if I get stopped, I would never reach for it but I do tell them that it’s there.
