Do they just land in the ocean and take a breather?
Do they eat seaweed?
Do they fly overnight?
I'm on a lease for the 23-24 season about 450 miles off the Oregon coast. We're thinking big spreads and a jerk string. Slightly worried about water depth but bringing the dog in case it gets above waders. See you at the launch.

I bet those Russians get to shoot more than one a day....
Pretty insane though, never thought of a pintail to make a long distance flight over an ocean/sea environment.
ETA: I forgot what it was but Delta WF did a trivia on the highest flying duck and it was a drake mallard spotted at some absurd height (I think it was even more than 30k, but I would have to check). They can fly high as Louisiana hunters are very used to seeing.

I see a couple of hooks back south on its way north. Wonder if it was encountering fronts

My buddy has one of those older Remington semi 10's and he brought it one day hunting and that thing was awesome. My sbe3 12 with 3.5" Winchester snow goose shells kicked much harder than the 10. However, it doesn't seem like they are easy to find anymore.
