A few years ago down near Capitol Reef National Park we ran across a set of Cougar prints not far from our campsite. Cool and unnerving all at the same time. My wife's hand (and our boykin's paw print above and to the right) for a size comparison.



Photo is loading slow and I don't know why

Showed this thread to the wife and she seemed to remember that the dog stepped on the cat track. I couldn't remember but it didn't look like it to me.

If you can draw an X over it and not hit the toes or pad it's a canine.

Oh it is a black panther alright! The black ones have learned to walk with their claws out to throw people off the right track.
