The problem is. I had one. One of my buddies got drunk and wrote some stupid shite all over it. I'll probably just get another. Thank yall for the advice.

Mine get enough use I wear the wood off, I wouldn't want anything painted on it, burnt in maybe...

Paint is just plastic. So what would eating plastic do? Can't be good. But I don't think there are any metals like lead in paint anymore.
