I don't run an ozonics unit but I do use Ozone to de-scent my clothes and gear, especially when I am travel hunting and staying in hotels or something

Watched a hunting show last night and every hunt they had one with them. Heck, didn’t matter if they were in a box stand or lock on. As for me, not buying into it. Play the wind and wash yourself/clothes. I also don’t cook and bs in my hunting clothes, when I come in from a hunt I change.

No ozonics... i wash my clothes in scent control detergent, i hang dry them, i get shower (before every hunt) with scent contril soap and shampoo, and use scent control deoderant. I also put all my clothes in a big plano box with those dirt wafers... they always smell like dirt haha.

I use one every time I go in the woods. Sometimes I take two, if the wind is light and switching directions. It might be all mental, but they seem to work. I still play the wind, but I see more deer come from downwind when I use it.

I use sent free everything though and have a crush closet. I might go two days without even showering at the camp if I don’t get sweaty, though. A must have in my opinion if you bow hunt a lot. They don’t way that much anyway.

That show was probably sponsored by ozonics.

I do all of this. I even wash my towels in scent free wash. I have a sealed closet in the garage dedicated to camo and it has cedar, scent wafers, and some dried goat weed in it.

When I get to lease, I get out and spray down and use ever calm on my rubber boots. I do my best to hunt the wind but sometimes topography, poperty borders, availabilty to go, and deer movement dictate I hunt a questionable wind. Heck most times we get some swirling winds anyway.

Just looking for another advantage.

And I'm referring to bow hunting. Not nearly as worried and simply hunt wind when I have a 250 yard reach.

They don’t work on swirling winds. They don’t even work on light and variable winds. That’s why I take two sometimes. They work best on constant 5-15mph winds. It’s the best odor control on the market that I know of.

I look at it as my last defense against deer smelling me. Nothing is worse then a deer blowing at you during the prime time of a hunt

They're either going to smell you or not, play the wind. That being said, I don't fry fish, grill or sit by a fire in my hunting clothes.

well obviously

The question is pondering if the use of ozone with help put more deer in the "not" category

I spray my hunting clothes before I go in the woods and I leave my clothes outside when I’m finished. Also wash them in scent free detergent. All that Ozonics stuff is just something else to spend money on.

Check out this thread on AT. This dude built his own "Ozonics" for around $100.

Homemade Ozonics

There is also this little contraption that I'm considering getting:

Hunter Box $99

Smoke is the best scent block made. Killed many deer reaking of camp fire

I'm s firm believer they you just need to not smell like a person.

Deer are used to smoke. It doesn't bother them.

As for human scent, if you could afford to put a tide washed shirt you wore under your stand every week of the year, they would get used to your scent and none would ever be afraid to come out with you in the stand. They seldom smell humans so it's natural for them to be weary.

I agree with deer get used to a smells and noises being in a certain area. Even bird bangers, they get used to them going off

If you're in an enclosed space (ground blind preferably although a box stand is still somewhat applicable), then it works. If you're hunting our or a ladder, climber, tripod or lockon, then it likely isn't worth the effort.

As someone stated previously, consistent wind direction is a huge help.
