Can we include a Gar category ? My dad was telling me he's been seeing about a dozen 4-6 footers every afternoon out by our launch

I didnt go this weekend but my buddy and 6 other guys went out of MC in a brand new 38' Gravios. they caught 14 snapper, some mangrove and a few AJ's. Limped in on one engine all the way to MC. They caught fish but it sounded like a nightmare trip will all the problems

wow... You people don't understand how far of a run that is from MC. They are 45-hour from MC to the mouth of the atchafalaya river then another 50+ miles offshore.. they have to go wayyyyyy out to catch those fish bc the contential shelf runs way out there.. We fish 30-40 miles offshore and are still in 15-20ft of water

Thats why I didnt go. They went 100 miles out just to catch those fish. They were heading to Auger when they noticed they were losing fuel and turned around. They got to the sea bouy and the engine finally died. They had to crawl 40 miles back to MC on one engine.

Well, they could have gone out of Cocodrie, I'm not sure why they went out of MC, probably cause there is less closures out of MC then out of Cocodrie. I dont typically go offshore out of MC, it's just too far, but no, we launch out of Berwick and go out the mouth of the river.

Gotcha.

I wish we wouldn't have had our massive fish kill in our stock pond last summer. I could've added a 7-9 lber to the mix.

Now the best I can do in there are the 6" (maybe 8-9" by now? ) we restocked this April.

same thing happened in that pond... Gustav knocked over a bunch of trees into it and all the leaves threw off the pH level and killed a bunch of the fish... We have caught numerous fish over 8lbs out of it but idk what's in there anymore... I just went and threw a fluke for a little while just to see what was in there and only caught a few knotheads

Why is there no category for gaspergou?

I believe there may be some racism present!
