I was in Grand Isle this weekend. Sorry to say I did not catch one fish
Damn, bad conditions or just shitty luck?

Wore em out on PA this weekend, biggest redfish I had was 27", didnt have time to take the pic and before we started cleaning them.
It was a great weekend on the island, fished till dark Friday afternoon and all day till about 2 on Saturday, final count was 30 redfish, 2 boats, 2 days.

It was slick calm where we were Saturday, the GOM was like glass

No trout, the rigs 3 miles out are still closed, we dont really catch trout inside this time of year, water was really nice in the marsh. We were right on the edge of PA, we could see the gulf from where we were fishing that's how I knew it was slick, I didnt actually go out in to the gulf.

quote:hell I didn't even know they were closed. I thought they decided to let fisherman recreational fish at their own risk except for the immediate area of the spill... Fwiw, you can catch trout on the reefs at the mouth of "the bayou" and by the little pocket at the point (from there all the way across the "washout" to the other side of the islands) give em a try next time.... Might be a little too fresh right now though

how much does a 25" trout weigh? I usually weigh my big trout, not measure them....
