Sitka Delta = $850/pair
Banded Black Label = $650/pair
LaCrosse Aero Elite = $550/pair

Beginning of duck season I won a pair of the Banded Black Label Insulated Breathable waders. They are extremely comfortable and light.

2nd morning of hunting, I’m sitting on a homemade marsh stool made from pvc pipe and a pvc flange. No seat fixed to the flange so no screws, nails or exposed sharp edges. Stick pipe in mud and lean against the flange in the cattails, works well.

Ended up with a damn tear/leak on my butt. No idea how it got cut? All wader company return policies are alike. No return, had to repair with SG-20. Can’t repair on inside due to sewn in quilted liner.

Banded should have reinforce the butt area like they have the knees. If these things can’t stand up to a 48 yr. old boating out and leaning on a marsh stool, then a 19-20 yr. old hopping fences or walking beaver slews would go through these like shite thru a goose.

Glad I won em cause I would not spend that much on waders that damage after two hunts.

Have you tried on all three and which that you like most?

I have to worry about cypress knees

I’d go for LaCrosse or Drake

False. LL Bean's have a lifetime warranty, or at least had a lifetime warranty when I bought mine. Sitka also has a lifetime "service" warranty and they'll fix them for you.

Well, Banded’s is just like LaCrosses’s return policy. Only way they replace is if a seam leaks. You tear em in a hunt, you find a way to fix em.

I’ll never have to worry about Sitka’s. For $850 they better be working with their customers. You gotta find out what “service” means though.

No, not tried all three. Had a buddy wearing the LaCrosse Aero on the same trip using, same stool. No problems with his.

Looks like LaCrosse adds a tougher material up the inner leg and across the butt.

If you’re shopping for a pair of these for Christmas. Make sure the butt is protected like the knee.

I will not pay a ton of money for a product that comes from a trendy apparel company that slaps their name on a set and charges double or triple.

I have had great luck w Hodgeman.

If you clean and store dry and cool they last for a long while

I am on my second pair on Banded uninsulated. The first pair leaked after a few hunts and they sent me a new pair. New pair is leaking again.

If they don't send me a new pair I am going to glue the hell out of the seams. Its not a massive leak just annoying that I spent the money and they don't work.

I had 2 pairs of Drake neoprene waders that both lasted me 4 years a piece. Still have the second pair for extremely cold days. But for movement and 90% of Louisiana hunting you cant be a wader like the banded uninsulated.

ETA: Banded just send me a return number for the second pair that were leaking. So they get a few more points on my book!

The big thing for me is that I have to find Waders for 15/16 size feet.

You obviously didn't buy them frickers at Academy. I get a new pair of Magellan breathables right before teal season. Keep the box and receipt is critical here. When the inevitable leak happens in December or January, I go back and return. No issues or back talk. Now the downside is that the supply gets gutted at Christmas and they might not have my size but I wear a 10 so they usually will have that size and if they don't, they give me a giftcard and with H-town having an Academy on almost every street corner, I usually get my replacements. Then I keep the box and receipt and start the process over the following Sept.

The only monkey wrench thrown was when they switched from Game Winner to Magellan.

I don't know a person who has Banded waders that hasn't replaced 2-3 pairs. And they aren't guides or hunting 40+ days of the season.

I have some LaCrosse that have been pretty good. They aren't as comfortable or easy to walk with as Banded's but they seem to have held up better.

I'd buy a pair of Sitka's if I knew the warranty was legit. Otherwise if you have to replace them every year might as well spend less money.

Well I have became educated thru the pocket book of others and using common sense. There is not a manufacturer of waders anywhere that make a bullet proof pair that will last long enough to justify the cost. There is not a pair of breathable waders worth there salt. If you want to argue stop now. You know I’m right. Anyone that can or would logically pay more than $200 for a set of any waders is absolutely ignorant. LaCrosse neoprene $179 and you bring them back at the end of every season no questions asked free replacement.

If you got a leaking seam, that is covered as manufacturer defect. If you puncture a hole in the boot on a sharp stick underwater or catch them on a piece of metal in the pit blind, then that’s on you.

I didn’t have much hope but I talked to Banded and they said no coverage. Honestly, I do understand this point cause they can’t cover everything. But then that brings up another question - who the hell they have field testing their clothing? What quality is in a $600 pair of waders? Again, I’m 48, sitting in the cattails and ain’t as mad at em as I used to be. Still managed to tear em.

Question is rethorical. Companies like Banded have made their “name” some time back. This all comes from China and probably from the same plants. They’re clamping down on input costs and maximizing profits.

Damn glad I won these and didn’t decide to spend my money on them. If it’s coming out of my pocket I’ll stick with LaCrosse or try Acadamey. That’s good info to keep in mind.

My advice to the fine folks of the OB - buyer beware on the Banded Black Labels, especially if you hunt hard and in tough conditions.

I have a pair of Simms Gore-tex waders that are probably 16-18 years old. They're only fishing waders but have been all over this country and have never leaked.

I buy a new pair of $50 waders from Academy before every season. Seen too many $300+ waders shite out after only like two seasons

I use gamewinner as well. No issues and had them for two seasons. But I don’t hunt a lot. If I did get a hole it would take 5 pairs to equal the big boys in costs.

Academy is really stepping up their camo wear game.
