just to record the encounter with police and post to youtube is the biggest douche move. It gives us a bad name. These assholes continue to do this stuff.

had a dude call into Sean Hannity yesterday lauding his doucheness about being confronted by a police officer for having AR15 uppers and lowers on the trunk of his car out in a parking lot.

I've been guilty of having them out in a parking lot. I've done some FTF purch/sales and I am certainly not inviting a stranger over to my house.
No one has ever bothered me, but then again I don't do it in busy lots either. Try to keep it to a sporting goods shop or a lot that is virtually empty.

Maybe you should call it by its right name. I've never seen any civilian open carrying a select-fire rifle before.

Who brought their weapon home from the armory? I haven't seen anyone with an assault rifle. There have been a few with AR's, but those are not necessarily assault rifles.

Seriously? I'm a veteran. I can call it a tit-willow stick if I want to.

Please call me if you decide to smack someone who does this. I want to be there.

Cool.
Just be prepared to reap the repercussions of not being taken seriously.
But thanks for your service.

Why are these people so uptight?
It's not like I said the word "clip"

Because those unfamiliar with firearms get the wrong information when an "evil" word like "assault" is added to "rifle." It makes it seem like that is the only purpose of the rifle and gives them something to bitch about. "Outlaw assault rifles! They are made to kill as many people in a short amount of time!"
See what I mean? Call it a rifle. Just leave it at that.
Or a tit-willow. I don't really care. Like I said, just be ready to not be taken as seriously.

You have a strange criteria for working knowledge.

You would be surprised how many certified instructors (like myself) take someone less seriously who uses the wrong nomenclature (aka "assault rifle" or the dreaded "clip").
To the average person it probably won't make a difference. But to someone with "working knowledge" it will be seen as ignorance.
Just letting you know what I think... I am in no way disrespecting your service for this country. In that regard I am very appreciative for gentlemen like yourself.

I don't condone anything that those idiots did, but there are some (not most) police who think way too much of themselves and would rather start trouble where there is none by trying to be a billy bad arse.
These idiot are just trying to expose those police and get a rise out of them so they can post on youtube.
