Which one do you use or have you? Our current dog isn’t food driven and the dry food isn’t cutting it anymore.
TIA

Have you tried cracking an egg in to it? Worked for my ole dog when he stopped eating regular dry food.

I do PB and pumpkin but don’t want to rely on constantly doing that. Rather just get better food and something he will eat regularly without putting that in it.

You could try the soft food from purine that comes in single serve packets. They will usually eat that, no problem.

We’ve had good luck using a pour of unsalted beef stock over the dry food as a change of pace. My cousin was buying the mail order stuff, but it will cost you more than a car note. He started making his own.

My dog liked Taste of the Wild. You can set up a subscription on Amazon.

Have you tried different dry foods? How is it not cutting it anymore?
ETA: Are dogs really starving themselves to an unhealthy weight because they won’t eat dry food? I’ve always had labs, so I’ve never had this issue. The problem is they’ll eat anything

This. What is PB?
One thing I have noticed is that if you give a dog wet food they generally won’t just go back to dry foods without turning their nose up and looking at you like “wtf is this”? Table scraps will ruin a dog’s willingness to eat dogfood too.
I have used oil that I have fried food in before. You just can’t use uncooked and don’t give too much oil when you feed them. I think I was using a table spoon. Cracking an egg on the food works too. My dogs don’t have any issue eating dry and I used oil, egg and wet foods for different reasons.

We have tried a bunch through the years. I dont ever feed him table scraps. He’s had wet food a handful of times. And maybe that’s it but it’s been awhile.

Sorry. Peanut butter.
We have a golden doodle. He’s been a picky eater/ not food driven since a puppy. He also only eats when we are in the room for the most part.
Figured I’d try out a healthier option like Ollie, Pet Plate.. plus I think he will eat it.

I’d have a hard time spending that kind of money on dog food. I feel bad enough paying for premium kibble, but I think it’s worth it.
What happens when your dog doesn’t want to eat? I feel like if they get hungry enough, they’ll eat. Do you leave the food out all day?

He’s become a grazer. He sometimes won’t eat in the morning and puke of course. We buy pretty good salmon kibble.

Maybe try putting the food down for a set period and picking it up. It may take a week or so to get used to the routine, but it’s worth a try before going with some expensive subscription.

I would pick it up also. If he doesn't eat he will when he's hungry. I feed diamond naturals skin and coat. It's a fair price. Same company as taste of the wild.

My dogs are all grazers. I put a bowl out in the morning and they just eat whenever they're hungry and won't eat the whole bowl. Curious if this is a bad habit to have. I have 2 goldens and an aussie. I never wanted dogs that were protective of their food, so I've always allowed them to just eat at their leisure. Not saying that feeding at only a specific time would cause them to be aggressive, but it seems like it could be one step that could lead to food aggression.

We used Chewys for about 6 months.
2 German shepherds and an Alaskan Malamute.
I found better price at tractor supply, and I started feeling bad about the mail woman having to carry that 50 pound sack of dog food. So, we canceled. They eat a form of Victor.
I know this is cheap and not great food, and my wife won’t let me feed it to our dogs, but we raised dogs on Ole Roy or Gravy Train when I was a kid. Try gravy train. I would if I could.

Same here, and would add some table scraps from time to time to kick things up a notch for the dog. I never had a dog die of malnutrition or get sick on that mix of food.
I don't know when it became chic for people to spend $60 and up on a bag of dog food. I was in Jefferson Feed a few months ago and saw some guy plop down $80 for a bag of dry dog food and just shook my head.

It’s not chic. I’m pretty sure dog food is the single most inflated commodity in the post Covid era. Many brands cost an average of 50% more than they did before Covid. But the expensive brands aren’t necessary to keep your dog alive. Either way, I still feed pro plan.

I thought that was the going rate, if not higher, for 50lb bags of decent/good dog food?
