offshore fishing out of gulf shores area

I've never been out of Gulf Shores, but I'm pretty sure as far as catching Tuna, most of those guys just run to MS Canyon, just like we do out of Venice. However, with the oil spill and all the federal fishing closures, you will have to run a VERY long ways to fish. From the look of the map, the closest place would be south east of Panama City, still about 200 miles from Gulf Shores.
