I bought one that I’ve used some.
I called cameraland NY and talked to them.
It’s not going to be the lightest nor strongest but I needed one would fit my height (6’4”). It a Be to Rhino and the center extends up to make it higher. It’s all carbon fiber and I have a Bento GX35 ball head on it. It holds a lot of weight.
I had a gun clamp on it but I’m switching everything to arca-swiss plates using m-lok on the hand guard. I’m thinking I will much prefer this over the gun clamp.

haven't they always had clear mags or is that a mandella effect for me?

First impression is they are a little slick and need more gripping surfaces molded into them. I do like the painted magazine spring round indicator. I'll stick with Pmags for now.

Building my first 350 Legend this week. For other owners here, did you buy specific mags for it or did you modify regular 556 mags?

if any of you are into military clones, you can get a 20" PSA rifle for $579 and a Knight's M5 RAS Rail for $275.
PSA 20" AR-15 Rifle
Knights Armament Company M5 RAS (Military Surplus)
get your optic, i prefer the Trijicon TA31RCO-A4CP for the M16A4, PEQ-2A laser/infrared sight, and mag pouch.
rifle and rail for less than $1000.

Excited I'm building my first AR, only self restraint is all products must be on sale, and it'll be a full build (stripped lower/stripped upper).
Looking at PSA stealth lowers, probably a criterion 11.5 carbine barrel, and a mix of Aero, BCM, Midwest, Giselle, and/or Stryker parts. Just going to sbr it, obviously will get the stamp (will need one for the silencer too).
Got some tools already to be able to do the install. Would love to get to the point where I can handle 80% lowers, but just do not have the technical ability.

can i suggest an M4A1 UGRI clone since you want an 11.5"?
PSA M4A1 Lower (Currenlty OOS / usually $40-50)
PSA M4 Carbine Lower ($60)
Anderson Upper Receiver ($70)
G$ MK16 10.5" Handguard (DDC color for the vibes / $350)
G$ Charging Handle ($70)
Magpul CTR Stock ($57)
Daniel Defense 11.5" Barrel ($338)
Surefire 4 Prong Flash Hider ($150-175 - currently OOS everywhere)
Find yourself a decent lower parts kit, gas block/tube, BCG, and pistol grip. Please note that you can source these parts anywhere on the web and you can upgrade from PSA/Anderson to Colt, LMT, FN, etc. This was just a quick search. Then find you a Surefire RC2 or RC3 suppressor. Once it's complete, it'll look something this:

I just put together a 6.5 grendel, tried three different uppers and found the BCM superior for fit.
BCM4-UR-M4 is the MFG part number. Think I paid around $114 from Primary Arms. Not the cheapest but great value.
Not stripped, has dust cover and forward assist installed and I swapped dust covers.
You'll need heat to get the barrel extension into the receiver.

What's the advantage of clones?

nothing in terms of functionality. it's more preference than anything.
you can walk into any gun store that has 5 different brands on the wall set at 5 different prices, yet they all look like the same black rifle. especially if they're all using m-lok handguards.
or you can go for style points and use what the military actually uses minus the 3-position safety.

are the components in a military clone better than what you can find in a gun store? sometimes, but that's subjective.
is a Colt upper receiver any better than an Anderson upper receiver? Probably not.
is a Daniel Defense barrel better than an Aero Precision barrel? absolutely.

i'm of the mindset that if it's good enough for the military, it's good enough for me.
if it were me, i'd just buy a basic Colt 6920 and modify it as see fit if that's the route you wanted to go. you can usually find them used in a local gun store for $750-ish. new ones are around $1000.
sell the barrel on reddit to recoup some money on r/gunaccessoriesforsale. it won't be much, like $150, but it's something. sourcing individual Colt parts will be more expensive than purchasing a rifle outright. you can also source stuff on that subreddit as well at much cheaper prices than new at online retailers.
FYI, i'm more of a Block II guy than an URGI guy...
Block I / MOD 0 Era: 1997 - present day
Block II / MOD 1 Era: 2003 - present day
URGI Era: 2018 - present
and no, i wasn't in the military. i just acknowledge that the builds themselves stand out to me better than an AR that any company can put out.
M4A1 Block II 14.5"

MK18 Block II 10.3"

This has got to be a gimmick. BCM is the only company that does this to my knowledge. And I think it’s the receiver you have to heat since heat expands and then put the barrel in the freezer which will then shrink the barrel.
I might be wrong on the process though. Just hearing it turned me off on them from a ground up build standpoint. I’m sure their assembled/barreled uppers are just fine.

I had to heat up an Aero Precision upper to get a Roscoe barrel in on my last build.

All their tolerances are tight and the fit is exceptional for the price.
I heated the receiver threads for about 30 seconds with a hair dryer, and got it in just fine.

Picked up a blem BCM bcg for around 130 which included shipping, now just waiting on some of the black Friday sales and/or other blem parts I'm interested in to hit.

Bought an Aero 16" .223 wylde blem from Aero for $123 with taxes and shipping.
Ordered it a month ago and it was just delivered today. Have 2 more of those Wilson sets to build and it will go on one of them.
Primary has the Wilson hand guard for cheap. Will probably order from them. This rifle will likely be just a knock around gun to carry at the farm.

They are fun to assemble. I now have a couple extra uppers I need to fill out...
