Does it have an a-frame front sight? If not, do you see any screws on the gas block?

A carbine gas system should have plenty of pressure. Is there a chance the block is twisted slightly?

Yeah, it’s an a-frame. I’ll check to see if it’s twisted, the only thing I could think of is that the tube is crimped or blocked in some way.
I’d think if there was a gas system issue it’d effect either cartridge but it’s strange that it only has an issue with .223.

There's really no surprises in that document.

Regarding the DPMS Panther, I ended up selling instead of trading, so now I’m in the market for my first AR in one of the worst buyers markets for them

Do you see that hole in the cross bar in the a-frame?

That’s a role pin. Punch it out and push the gas tube to the rear toward the action and pull it out.

Check the gas tube and the use some compressed air to blow through the a-frame (cover the role pin holes). Clean the barrel really well and put it back together.

Seems like I remember that it may only go one way. Google to check that before you punch it out.

I may be wrong but make sure.

Gas tube pin isn’t directional, should be simple enough unless I have to spend 3 hours looking for the pin

Big daddy has saved me atleast $65 on the last two purchases I've made and better prices than I can find elsewhere. Guess just depends what you are looking for.

Use to own one over 20 years ago. Had different color upper and lowers which was very unusual at the time. Essential Arms wasn't a high end maker but did use to make a lot of hard to find parts for those looking to recreate retro versions of the AR15.
I remember them being a 1 man shop and not sure if still business.

Looks like they closed down April 1st.

essential arms

Your F ar body appears to be a post ban post 1994 manufacture.
