Palmetto state complete Lower. I bought at 139.99.

Bear Creek Arsenal. Paid 249.99. They are out of stock currently. I bought an extra side charging knob. It's two piece knob. I actually put JB weld on the screw base where it meets the knob and let dry upright over night so i can unscrew and field strip without an allen wrench.

Enhanced Firing Pin. Install to ensure primer strike with steel case ammo.

C Products Magazine. Rated the best for the AR platform in the 7.62x39. Havent had an issue yet and went and banged out a lot of rounds. I tested all 5 magazines i purchased. Zero errors.

You can build it cheaper now in parts. At the time the lower assembled was cheaper as it was a sale. It would be cheaper now to purchase in pieces and assemble. The upper is sweet. I really like the side charging handle. There was a small defect where the aluminum was scratched. no big deal for me. The reciever is thick. I like it very much.

Put some trinity popup sights for now. Waiting on a better buy for the Sightmark ultra Shot Plus. A buddy has it and it is very nice.

Literally just buy the complete upper and completed lower (send to FFL) pickup.

You'll be paying shipping. Sometimes you can get free shipping.

Just shop and wait. Bear Creek and black rifle got here in a week. The PSA lower here in 12 days.

AR 15 lower will take both a 5.56 and 7.62x39... other smaller calibers uppers.

AR10 will accept the larger calibers. Multiple uppers will fit.

Don't forget ammo. Shooting the 7.62x39 is a lot cheaper than the 5.56. it's hard to find these days.

Shipping on these separate, mags, ammo, gun case do add up.

I'm in for under 700. That's including case, 5 mags and about 200 rounds. Flip sights.

Watch some YouTube. Get after it!

I will say this. Building one from the ground up is a lot more satisfying and rewarding than buying completed receivers.

A year ago, this wouldn’t cost $700+ plus a lower.

Gotta be careful with the AR-10. There are two different styles and they are not compatible.

AR-10 is the original Stoner design.
LR-308 is DPMS and this is what most manufacturers are doing now but you have to be sure before you try to build one.

Yes.

All the way. My son and I enjoyed putting and entire one together. The upper was kind of a pain when it came to putting in the forward assist...

If they are not up to it or want to full with it. Completed are easy enough obviously and still get some cost savings.

The kit says it still requires a ”stripped” lower, can you steer me towards the right one on palmetto ?

One of the other guys will have to answer that, I don't mess with building them. I was just answering your question about the ammo.

Seems to me that you could also buy a complete lower, but you will have extra parts.

I looked at the stripped AR-15 lowers and there were some cosmetic differences and different labeling, but basically the same. I don't know why any AR-15 lower wouldn't work, Just depends on how much you want to do yourself.

Yes. 5.56 is higher pressure, so .223 works fine.

.223 chamber: use only .223, not 5.56
5.56 chamber: use either
Wylde chamber: use either

The factors of safety are such that you're probably not going to blow up a barrel shooting 5.56 in a .223 chamber, nor did you do significant damage if you forgot and put a mag of 5.56 through it. But get a 5.56 or a Wylde and you don't have to worry about it.

Curiously enough, the reverse is true for 7.62/308. Shoot either in a 308 chamber, shoot only 7.62 in a 7.62 chamber.
