Looking to start a gun trust. Is the Silencerco setup a bad deal? If it makes it extremely easy then I don't mind paying $130. Also, not including tax stamps, how much more money would it be to complete it or is the $130 for everything?

Do they make billet vertical grips?

Rainier Arms

Check this place out. They have the same Fortis grips for real boy guns.

I went with a local lawyer in BR, but a buddy did the SiCo trust. He said it was super easy and had it done in 15 minutes or so. It should be $130.00 for everything done.

It would be interesting to know the difference between the "PTS" version and the "real boy" version. Google tells me the PTS version is made by PTS and they license the design from Fortis. Both are made from 6061-T6 so you can't say it's the materials. Maybe the hardware could be different. $40 for some screws? I'm guessing it's just the silk screen at the top and a little bit of QC so they can sell it cheaper on Airsoft sites. $75 from Primary Arms. $35 from the Airsoft version. It's a vertical grip. As long as it doesn't fall off should be functional.

I'm not sure what the difference is. I do see this disclaimer.

quote:

DISCLAIMER: THIS PRODUCT IS FOR AIRSOFT, TRAINING, AND SIMULATION PURPOSES ONLY. UTILIZING AIRSOFT PRODUCTS IMPROPERLY, INCLUDING IN REAL FIREARM APPLICATIONS, ARE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AND MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. PTS WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR MISUSE OF THIS PRODUCT.

I wonder if there are some legal or insurance reasons. I wouldn't imagine manufacturing gun accessories for real firearms vs. toy firearms would be any different, but to put that long disclaimer would make me believe they would have to carry some kind special liability insurance if they were making real firearm accessories. That may be why it's cheaper.

Yea, if I would have kept the foregrip, sling and flashlight off it would have been super light. Probably could have saved some weight with the stock too. But I wanted it to be light but useable for around the house.

Just go with the airsoft version. Like DeoreDX said, the worst thing that can happen is it falls off. I doubt it's much different than the real one.

Pretty good day today. I won this for a whopping $21. I know it's a good gun but have no experience with DD. Anyone know much about it? Anything need to be replaced like the trigger? What optics should I run?

DD is good to go. They are a great company. Shoot it and see what you want to change after. First things I would get rid of is the rail and even that isn't a big deal just because their quad rails aren't too beefy. But if you do want to change rails, go with something with MLOK. Also, as far as optics go, depends on your application and budget. Tell us those and we can help. Change the trigger only if you think it is necessary after testing it. Some people like those mil-spec triggers (which is what I think that particular DD comes with). If you want an aftermarket trigger, Geissele makes great triggers. American Trigger Corp. also makes a fantastic trigger.

Basically, keep it stock until you know you want to change something after firing. Also, give us budget and use for the optic and we can help better.

Going to use it for targets but mainly riding around hog hunting. Sometimes at night. Have buddies that sometimes bring their NVG and thermals. I have a Elftman trigger in my 300blk build that I just started before I won this gun and I'm worried that the trigger will feel heavy in comparison. Also, I will probably hold off and save for optics while I finish my 300. I used to always use Eotech stuff on my ARs but I've noticed that people have started getting away from them. I am going with the Trijicon MRO on my 300.

It will. Buy the AR Gold or Geissele of your choosing.

Since you bring this up I have this gun but a older LW version. Can DD hand guards be swapped out with that mounting style? I haven't looked into it much yet. I rather mlok stuff.

Found an Aimpoint PRO for $381.60 shipped. Any experience with it? Like I said before, I'm building a 300blk right now that is pretty high end so I would rather spend $400 or so instead of $700 if the PRO is a good choice.

Buy it. They are good to go. One of the best budget-minded, hard-use optics available.

I haven't posted an update yet so I thought I'd go ahead and do so:
Have put about 200-250 rounds through my MSR-15 Patrol and it's performed flawlessly. I'm pretty sure it's capable of more than I am, accuracy wise Went with a Nikon P-223 1.5-4.5x20 optic in a Burris PEPR QD 1" mount. This is the best group so far but I'm sure with match grade ammo it'd do better. [/img] [/img]
