So I checked out Rock River. I found a complete upper for $540 and a complete RR lower for $300. A fully built rig is a little over $1000.
The full rifle has the 2-stage national match trigger.

Ah, not a fan of two stage triggers on an AR

I have one I shoot service rifle matches with. It's nice for that.

Were they over 100 yds?

I need some help deciding on a trigger.
I was leaning towards the Rise Armament RA-140 but I'm also seeing some good reviews about the Hipertouch Enhanced Duty Trigger series and they cost a little less. Are ALG triggers any good? I only have experience with stock triggers and the Rock River 2 stage.
Thanks

For the service rifle?
JP makes a spring kit that's pretty nice. Or they have there own trigger.
I'm using a POF right now. Its pretty good.
But I'm not one to complain about a well worn gi trigger so there's that. Fundamentals will fix most things.

No I'm doing a new build on a just for fun gun.

The POF trigger is good, they have a 4.5lb trigger I saw on sale for 139 today. I'll have to see where I saw it.

Check out Velocity triggers. I have them on two of my ARs and really like them. The guy that started the company was the lead engineer for Timney. Their triggers are $150, but I've seen them in various places for around $120. But it's been a while since I've done any actual price checking. LINK

I have the ACT in one of mine. I think it's a great trigger. Real smooth, clean break, and I think Noveske was using them as their stock trigger. There is a tiny bit of creep, and I had to take a file to the lower I used on that build, but nothing major. Probably the lower though, not the trigger.
Come up to Montana. I'll let you try it out.

RRA is junk.
No reason to put anything other than a GI trigger, unless you're shooting for groups or gaming.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that was dumb.

The ALG and QMS are still GI triggers, and have GI pull weights. They've just been smoothed out a bit and NiB coated on the ACT.
He also stole the design Timney uses for their AR trigger, which Mossberg owns and collects royalties on from them and a couple other manufacturers. At least that's what Mossberg is currently trying to prove in court.

I want something lighter than the GI trigger.
Posted on 7/29/16 at 10:14 pm to GeauxxxTigers23
If you don't want a whole new trigger, I had a gi trigger with JP yellow springs. Was pretty light and still strong enough for steal cased ammo.

Didn't know that part about Mossberg. I was aware it was Timney's design, but from what I understood that was his design to begin with, and he just started Velocity using the same design. His reason for leaving Timney was because he didn't like the prices Timney were charging. I could be completely off but that's just what I remembered reading a while back.
I have the 3lb SS in two of mine and I'm very happy with them. There is zero creep, very crisp. I have never actually shot a Timney though so I can't speak to any sort of actual comparison.
