Skip it for the same reasons as the other one. Add to it that unless you're reloading or shooting it only sparingly, you don't want a 6.8

Mods are iterations of the guns. For example, Mark 12 Mod 0 has a PRI rail but the mod 1 has a Knights Armament rail. They also use different iron sights from one another.

So if you didn't have anything it wouldn't matter which one?

I have no clue what rifle you are talking about so I have no clue what I would prefer. Post a link of what rifle you are specifically discussing. In reference to the Mk12, I would go mod1.

I've been lurking in this thread for a few years now and finally think I'm ready to pull the trigger and get my own.

I'm really liking the Daniel Defense line and ultimately think that's what I will end up going with. I haven't made my mind up on which model yet, but I'm leaning towards the DDM4V5 similar to the picture below.

Does anybody have any experience with it or have any reviews on it? Looking to buy with a little bit of this year's tax money. Tia

Ah, just peruse the features and see what you like. Most differences between the mods are usually not huge (from mod to mod). It is all about what you like.
Edit: not seeing the term "mod" on those pages. But yeah, most mod changes between the ARs are handguards and such. Go with something keymod, a quad rail sucks.

DD makes some of the best production, mid priced, ARs on the market next to BCM. If I were you, I would spend a few extra and buy the V11 Pro.

That's just the different variations of their charging handle (from small to large). I went with the ambidextrous one.

I think that Mod 3 is the large, Mod 4 is the medium and Mod 5 is the small charging handle from BCM.

But don't quote me.

I wouldn't get a polymer lower. Honestly, if you don't know much about ARs I would recommend going to academy/cabelas and getting a Smith and wesson M&P sport. I think they are around $650.00 brand new, and you are getting a good quality rifle. Once you have it you can get the feel of what you need as far as optics, grips, and stocks.

I went by Kaufman's in Daleville to see about these $30 stripped lowers. It was $39 for THIS Anderson lower. Does anyone have any experience with this brand?

I've sold hundreds of them in the past 6 months. Never had one come back. The finish has a little rougher texture than others, but they are a decent mil-spec lower at an unbeatable price. If he's selling them for $39 you better buy them up because you won't see them at that price for a while after this last round of supply dries up with the industry where it is.

AIM Surplus has them for nearly the same price : $39.95.
