Anyone have any info on this gun? How to buy it, or build something very similiar, atleast in look. I don't know a whole lot about it but I'd like to get my dad essential this exact gun one way other the other.

Vltor mur-1A upper receiver
Cmmg lower (just a standard lower, several options identical to it outside of the roll mark)
Magpul CTR stock
Ergo grip
Larue LT660HK red dot mount
Magpul MBUS back up sights
Magpul BAD lever
KNS Gen 2 anti rotation pins
Not sure on that foregrip, or the optic. Either an Aimpoint, PA, or some other microdot.
My 300BLK is almost identical to that

How much would it cost to buy/build something like that?

Also what is the difference in a standard AR and a 300BLK?

If you really want that Vltor receiver, you could just buy a noveske complete upper/rifle (some models come with a Noveske-marked MUR). Otherwise you'd have to build from scratch. Keep in mind that the rifle in that picture is an SBR, so you will need to apply for a tax stamp (unless that's some sort of permanently attached fake can). As far as how much it would cost to build, that can vary quite a bit. The only difference in a 5.56/.223 AR vs one chambered on 300BLK is the barrel.

Really I'd just like the easiest and most cost effective way (yet still quality products) of recreating that gun visually. So the best way of doing that is ideal. Doesnt have to be the exact gun.

You'd have to apply for at least 2 stamps, one for the SBR and one for the can. That's $400. The can itself will run in the $800-$1k ballpark. So ~$1400 just to "recreate that visually." This is not including the cost of the actual rifle. Plus, I'm by no means a legal expert on NFA items, but you can't simply gift them to someone else, outside of starting a trust of which you are both trustees. This is probably something you should ask a lawyer though

What would have to be changed to avoid having to get the stamps?

A 16" barrel, and use something like a Noveske Flaming Pig or Alberta Tactical Eliminator as your muzzle device. They both have that fat suppressor look to them (weigh a frick ton though). Then get a foregrip/rail that extends an inch or so longer than the barrel. Alternatively, you could get a 14.5" barrel and have the muzzle device permanently attached, so that the barrel + muzzle device is greater or equal to 16".

Obviously I'm out of my element here, but thanks for your help. Looks like I've got a lot more to learn and more research to do.

Several options out there, whether building or just buying a complete rifle, that would serve your old man well. Things start getting complicated (and expensive) when you start bringing short barrels and suppressor a into the equation though. If you really like that upper receiver, and want a muzzle device with a sort of suppressor look, look into Noveske's complete uppers with the flaming pig. As far as quality goes they're top notch.

I'd like to pretty much do this.

quote:

If you want some customization without building from scratch, buy a complete lower then shop bravocompanyusa.com for the exact complete upper and rail you want. Slap it together and gas it up.

But have it look very similiar to the picture I posted above, preferably in the $800 range.

Cheapest option is definitely a fake suppressor or a pinned and welded 5.5" muzzle brake but the brake might not give you the look you want. The rest of it could be built pretty easily on a budget.
