ETA: I meant 6 position carbine, not rifle. Sorry, the FFL defaults my thinking to the only types of guns are pistol, rifle, shotgun or other.

Picked up my Daniel Defense ISR from Bowie's the other day. Gonna take it out Sunday and play with it.

Since its the AR15 thread, I made a mistake. Havent really paid to much attention to stuff lately.
Traded a backpack for a POF drop in trigger. Figured Id drop it in last night and see how it felt. This trigger uses KNS pins to secure it. Took the old trigger out and dropped it in and boom there was the problem.
I use a KAC ambi mag release and the KNS pins dont work with that. Looks like Ill be switching to a Norgon ambi mag release.
Trigger feels great though, put a factory mag release in the gun until I can get the Norgon.

Yes but, it has a Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x20 with Blackout Reticle instead of the supplied iron sights. Just waiting on John to place an order for some Atlas bipods and it will be complete.
Did you end up purchasing one??

I'm looking for a budget red dot to put on a weapon I am giving to my dad. What's yalls opinion on this one? Pretty good reviews on Amazon.

Is a scope for fun and 45 degree sights for home defense the perfect AR set up?
Secondly, went out with a buddy today to put the first rounds through his build. We tinkered all day because it was short stroking and at the end of the day it was smooth as butter with hot 5.56 but still would not cycle bulk .223.
We broke it down a few times and oiled this and that and burned many rounds but after all was said and done the best we could do was get it to cycle hot 5.56.
Tips?

Sounds like the gas port may be too small
