Any of you goons installed your own barrel? Seems simple enough, but its something I have yet undertaken.
If you have, what do you recommend I get tool wise? Do's and don'ts?

If you have ever tightened a nut onto something you can install an AR barrel...every job is easier with the correct tool, they are:
1. Geissele Reaction Rod (or other way to hold the upper/barrel in a vise)
2. Aeroshell 33ms to put on the upper receiver threads and a little on the barrel extension.
3. If you are using a standard barrel nut get a Gem State Armory armorers wrench.
4. A torque wrench is also recommended, although some will argue that it is unnecessary since the torque window is 30-80 ft lbs.
5. If you are using a free float rail or any rail that uses a proprietary barrel nut get the appropriate crows foot or wrench.
Insert barrel into upper receiver, torque nut to 30 ft lbs. Then continue torquing the nut until one of the notches or holes on the barrel nut lines up with the gas tube hole on the upper receiver. Make small moves and use your gas tube to check clearance. Install gas block/tube, handguards and muzzle device.

Palmetto State Arms had them for $299 on their daily deals. I don't know if they are still available today though.

Use Moly Slide on the barrel nut, period. It is Mil spec and has no graphite. Do not use a graphite anti seize.
The handguard you select will give you a torque range. Use the suggested range as your guide.
If you miss the proper index on the gas tube slot make sure to unscrew the nut and re torque.

PSA is also selling their Nickel Boron BCG for $99. Sorry, I'm at work so it won't let me post a link. Here's a pic though.

The wheeler engineering kits are pretty solid.
Geissele reaction rod is definitely a cool thing.
