If you bought a complete upper, it only attaches to the lower one way.

That has nothing to do with connecting the upper to the lower.

That was just a non staked castle nut failing

I can't watch youtube vids, damn work filters. But if someone says their castle nut failed they either over torqued the shite out of it, or didn't tighten it at all.

What part of the build will that be necessary for?

I use channel locks to push the 2 roll pins through (bolt catch and trigger guard). Also i forgot to mention the biggest allen wrench that can fit through the takedown pivot hole. Makes holding that detent in so you can slide the takedown pivot in alot easier. Other than that you just need a long screw driver or whatever for the pistol grip screw.

Pretty good read on the rise of the AR in wired magazine. Author is a native Louisianian.

I posted some pics in the ammo thread about the parts that I just got. My BCG looks a little off and had some white shite between the notches. I chipped it off but it took the black finish with it. Should I return it based off this and the wear marks from the test fire?

Again, picks are in the ammo thread.

Looks fine to me, but I can't tell what white stuff you're talking about, all I see is camera flash.

The white stuff is between the notches in one of the earlier pics. I knocked it off and it took the finish with it. You can see that in the last pic I posted.

Hope so.

So when I build this tomorrow I am suppose to wipe all the excess oil off of my upper right? Wipe the oil off the outer parts but leave it on the BCG and in the barrel?
