Our Academy (Shreveport) was doing the wait until the next morning to unload the ammo off the truck deal. Basically you knew to line up before they opened the next day.
They've scrapped that and gone back to just putting it out when it comes in. Getting ammo has gone from lining up and getting it in the order you stood... to pure luck.
Anyone other Academy's screwing with the program like this?

Most have still been stacking it up first thing in the am, I was at Airline this morning before they opened and the guy said they didnt have anything in, pointed to the counter with nothing on it.

That is really f'ed up. Was at Siegen at 7:59 and went in and saw Rem .223 20 rd / box. Guy at counter said they had 40 rd boxes of 556 that was gone as soon as doors opened to 15 people. I looked at my watch... WTF it's 8:00AM right now. Guess employees got dibs

Confirmed Academy airline has Winchester 22LR 525 boxes @ $19.99 box. Bring a friend if you want more than (1) box.

Well I can buy three boxes because I just bought that M&P 15-22 today. Just bullshite that they told me they ddint have any.
Guess nobody is checking weapons anymore at Academy, just ammo. They sold a Windham AR at Siegen they had received yesterday!

I just stopped by Cabela's just to see the empty shelves. Fist time I had been in there in 6 months, tons of people leaving empty handed. Many people asking about ammo and surprised the shelves were empty. 
I noticed some .17 and a few other odds and ends. They also had some .22 birdshot.

I just got my first 22 yesterday. What's a good cents per round price on .22lr ammo? I'm thinking 7-8 cpr should be it.

6-8 cpr for the plinking stuff is about right, may be a little more depending on shipping costs.

gunbot.net lists a good deal as 10 cents a round right now. I just bought some cci mini mag for .12 a round. little more, but its a better ammo than the bulk remington box and my gun can be a little picky.
