I just ran into the governor of Alaska in the sporting good section of Walmart....

I've got insomnia. I'm so used to going on 5 hours or less of sleep it doesn't even bother me anymore.
The days vary, but I'm never in any later than 0800.

Yeah, I saw Sen. Murkowski in ours once too. She used to be pretty down to earth, very approachable. Things change though.
Current Gov. is pretty laid back. In a state like this you have a lot of interaction with these folks if you stay around long enough. Used to see Gov. Knowles and Palin walking to their office. Used to sled (snowmobile) with her husband.
Just a waste of time story, a funny memory I have.
Current Sen Begich was running for mayor once back in 2000 when I was on a corporate scavenger hunt. My team had found everything except for one which was "take a picture with a local politician."
We bought a newspaper and found out candidate Begich was having a speech at 6 pm at a Lutheran church so we figured why the hell not. We get there at five after and they are introducing him. I walk down the aisle and intercept him headed to the podium, whisper what we need and he was all over it. I said "Mayor, you aren't gonna believe this but...." The team gathered around him and we took a picture which won the scavenger hunt.
I saw him a couple months ago and asked him if he remembered and he did. Said it was one of the funniest things that ever happened to him on the campaign trail.
Mark Begich dad was killed along with La Congressman Hale Boggs in a plane crash in Alaska
