Pine is fine in a fire pit like that, but you better have a lot on hand. It burns a lot quicker. Don't use it in a fireplace though unless you just like keeping your chimney cleaner in a new car.

You still had wood man? I thought you said a while back that all of it was gone. I had to drive to hell and back looking for some around New Orleans

Woke up this morning and that pine is all burnt up but still pieces of the oak that was under it is left.
Screw oak.
BTW,That piece of pine was 1/6th of the piece that was use to split up.

If the oak is seasoned but still burning like crap it means it was probably cut from a dead tree that spent some time under water, then dried, then spent time under water, then dried, etc.
Old people around here call it doty wood.
