Glad you are seeing deer. Very quiet around here the last few days.

You live by Bethel baptist? One of my sons former teachers is the pastor there.

Had a doe outside of shooting range. Was hoping she would walk the logging road but didn’t.

5 min later had a young buck on her trail. He came about 20 yards from me through brush and stopped behind some trees. Could never see his rack. Once he lost her scent he turned and headed where she went.

I’m about to run over to the farm for some more work.

Will run the bush hog a little and start digging holes for a fence.

Also need to check traps and set out a couple of new ones.

Big buck that I missed came back today. 200 yards further down though. I’ll try again this weekend

Pdubya I’m not sure why I’ve never stopped at Vines. It was delicious. Plus I grabbed a bunch of Meat Church seasonings and some sausage.

I had two big coons waddle up earlier, made me wish bad my traps were out or I had a silenced 22.

Glad you liked it. I’ve been going to the original since the 80’s and have watched it grow. Guapos is another good restaurant in the area also. It’s at the 569/570 intersection.

Not hunting today. Did all the maintenance on the vehicles today . I smell like diesel and oil. Plan on hunting all day Sunday.

Yes.On Morgan Rd across from Bethel Baptist. Haven’t seen much around here. I’ve got to find a place to hunt. Hunting these small pieces of land just isn’t cutting it

I’m also in a friends lease just north of woodville to give the kids the opportunity to see deer consistently .
I’ve hunted on the property we own in NW Amite county for 20 years. It used to be I’d see 4-5 deer each hunt around the house. The land around here , including ours, has been divided up over the years and a lot more people hunt and the deer numbers are down…regardless of what MDWFP says. There are deer here but they are pressured and not near as many as there used to be .

I agree. We just moved here 5 years ago. I hunted along Busy Corner Rd and Stump Rd most of my life. Hunting was better 30 years ago. For the last twenty years I strictly bow hunted. Now I’m trying to give the grand kids an opportunity. I’ve looked since I moved here just haven’t found a lease to suit me
