New (to me) Truck... Which is the better idea?

Two trucks, one an ‘09 Sierra, the other a ‘13 Silverado. Both single owner vehicles. Not looking to break the bank with a brand new, just need it for utility. Comfy ride would be a plus though.
Just wondering which seems the better buy on the surface and what to look out for as far as problems with each. Figured you baws could also provide truck nut specs.
Here are the links to both.
‘09 GMC Sierra
‘13 Chevy Silverado
First thought is good price for mileage on the Sierra, but don’t know if I am missing something with the newer but more-driven Silverado.

I'd get the older one. Those rims are a sign of eminent bullshite

Older one has about 50k less miles as well, def the 09

Thanks. Think the price is possible to negotiate downward?

14k sounds like a lot for a 10 year old 2 wheel drive truck to me. If you arent in a bind I'd offer like 10k.

My truck is a 2014 and I'm just hitting 93K...go with the older one. It's led an easier life.

My 09 GMC with the 5.3 AFM engine was burning 1 qt of oil every 1500 miles when I traded it at 100k miles.
A 2wd truck can be useless in many scenarios (wet boat ramp, any snow or mud).
Get the small or large V8 for 07-13 GM trucks (they didn’t have AFM). Stay away from the 5.3. 2014+ 5.3 engines did not have the oil problem. If you can swing it the 2014+ models are better trucks in several ways.

DO NOT buy the 09 unless the lifter work has already been done. But, I'm sure it hasn't. The 5.3 in that year and 10 had some really bad lifter problems.

Yep. Just the other day those years were on a list for worst trucks you can buy.
That was the sole reason

Not necessarily true. My 2010 Yukon Denali with the 6.2 has AFM. I had it electronically disabled.
The easiest solution for wanting the 09 and preventing the oil consumption issue is to install a DOD delete kit or have a local shop do it. It removes all the plumbing for the 4 cylinder mode and it’ll run great like the 99-06 trucks did with the 5.3. Here’s one site selling it but plenty places sell it for a few hundo:

i'm a sucker for low miles, so i'm going Sierra
just an anecdote: I just bought an 2009 Titan with 114k miles for $9k, and it is strong as an ox

So I found out that the engine was professionally rebuilt at 40k miles, and it was documented as “rods, pistons, etc.”
I know enough that all those are linked together, so would you guys say that it would be a safe idea to move forward on it knowing that the work has been done? Or should I check out different makes in a similar price and model year range to do better?

frickkkkkk that. If it isnt well documented from a reputable builder I wouldnt touch it.

Neither ... get a Ford and be happy, happy , happy

For 18k you can get a brand damn new one with a warranty

If you don't care what it looks like get the Sierra. Just know that it is ugly AF.

I had a 2010 Silverado that had the oil burn issues. 1.5qt at 3000 miles and fouling spark plugs like it was going out of style at 40k miles. I had to have it rebuilt at the dealership. Immediately after I had it rebuilt I got a Diablo tuner and disabled afm. That ruined me from ever wanting a vehicle with afm. That said I drive that truck for nearly another 100k Miles after the rebuild never anymore problems.

I have a 2011 Silverado with the AFM. Once my brother in laws Sierra dropped a lifter I got the Diablo tuner and disabled mine around 100k. It doesn’t burn a drop at 140k and it’s been a great truck, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy one unless they were planning on ditching the AFM. It’s such a well documented issue and I personally know a ton of people who’ve dealt with it.

Electronically disabling it seems to fix a lot of the issues since the system isn't really "operating." Doing the full DOD delete with all the mechanical parts will take it even further.
Personally, my AFM has been electronically deleted on my truck since early 2016 and it's been solid so I'll probably just leave it at that.

mannnn.... there are just way too many trucks out there that HAVEN'T been rebuilt to go after one that has.
Trust me. You will find a good deal on a good truck. Don't buy the rebuild
