The brand new ones only have like 4" of ground clearance which is bs.
Also I would be very nervous of the motors.

We have had a 2006 Yukon Denali, 2015 Tahoe, 2016 Yukon XL, and now have a 2021 Yukon XL. They have all been reliable, except we had a fuel pump go out on the latest one that took a while to get in.
Unlike others, I would get the 5.3 liter or 3.0 diesel. The 6.2 liters have known lifter problems, and I know of at least 1 person who have had theirs replaced under warranty in their 2022 Sierra.

We had a 18 I totaled one night, bought the wife a BMW after that, she's had enough of it and wants back into a Tahoe. Currently looking at a Premier Four Wheel Drive model, anyone have any experience with the 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine in one? Sticker claims 20/26 mpg?

Nothing wrong with a Tahoe but what she needs is a minivan. It’ll be cheaper and more useful.

Mini van will go over like a turd in the punch bowl. Get the Tahoe unless you want a divorce….

I’m amazed people spend so much on a Tahoe or Yukon…

Bump. I was about to pull the trigger on a new one today with the 3.0 when I found this post on C&D. Guess I'll be holding off until the fall and get a 25 model.

Never had problems with my 2006 Z71 suburban or 20212 Z71 Tahoe, both with the 5.3L, loved both cars. But in my 2020 Yukon Denali, have the 6.2L and it's a totally different animal, far superior when towing bay boats in my experience. No issues to date.
Not sure how the shifter is oriented on the current Tahoes but I sure dont care for the push button system of my dad's 2022 Yukon Denali, find it annoying but maybe some like it.

We won't be pulling with it much but when we do it sounds like the diesel has plenty of low end torque for the job, the difference in gas mileage will also be nice. Overall it will probably all equal out though given maintenance cost. Shifter is going back to the column on the new interior, that will help with making room for the new 17" display.

2018 Z71 Tahoe with 5.3L owner here. Prior to 2024 that truck was AWESOME. Then all of sudden once it got close to 60K miles everything started acting up:
1. Lost power steering going 75mph down the interstate. All kinds of lights on dash. Found out then the steering was electric (no power steering pump/fluid). Never found out the culprit.
2. Seal around headlight assembly isn't water tight any more...so I have to remove the blinker bulb (the bottom one) and wipe it off and the contacts to get the blinker to work.
3. Lost the water pump at 60K. Not bad to change, but scary when it finally goes out and you didn't recognize the tick, tick noise it makes AS it's going out.
4. When changing out the cabin air filter, be careful if you have leaves in there...one will inevitably fall into the squirrel cage and stay there until you pull the unit.
5. The touchscreen on the radio/GPS etc went haywire...making it's on selections etc. Ordered a new one from Amazon and put it in myself..so far so good on that as well.
