Nah I remember leaving last year thinking there were a few boats I would have bought. It everything this year seemed underpowered and overpriced in the 22' range.

Nola boat show sucked. Wasn't worth my time driving over there or the $10 to get in

We went to the Biloxi boat show last month and it blew the Nola boat show out of the water. More boats, more vendors, more booze, more going on

I went with a friend who wanted to go. I'd be fine never going again. It's an ok show if you're in the market for a 24ft bayboat or a pontoon rig. Wish they had more to offer in the 16-18 fiberglass market. Best boat I saw all weekend was a grey beavertail skiff on the highway today.

Made the trip from Lafayette and got to get my hands on the two boats I'm trying to decide between so it worked out well for me. I do think the 10 dollar charge for them to sell me a boat is just dumb

There wasn't a price I saw that you couldn't walk in their door a month from now and still get. The boat show prices used to mean something, but seems to be your typical, every day prices from what I saw.

I wished they would have had more vendors there for gear and tackle type items.

I only saw one and it looked like regular fishing tackle you could buy off the shelf at any Walmart. I imagine the vendor fee is so high that it isn't worth considering. I wish they could duplicate the Houston fishing show in New Orleans.

And half that booth was hunting and archery gear. Thought it was little odd that the boat show had as much of that as they did fishing tackle.

this ^^^^^^

used to be you went there to get great deals based on large volume sales there. that no longer happens and if anything i found you get better deals "after" its over.

find something you like from a dealer you like and call them a week later and 9 out of 10 times they will give you a better price then they gave you at the show.

the only thing the boat show is good for now is a chance to see a group of boats in the same place to do side by side comparisons and put hands on to see the quality and type of construction. its not really about buying a boat and/or motor any more, buts its all about being a window shopping opportunity to help you decide what you want and then you can go home and shop around for the best deal. because you surely will pay more at the boat show then you will buying it later on.

All of this

Went a few years to look at several bay boats side by side before making a decision. Easily worth the price of admission for that aspect.

thats the way i felt too. i went to find the quietest 4 stroke motor they had. went there after reading reviews and expecting that it would be the honda but it wasnt. in fact the honda wasnt even in the top two quietest motors i saw and heard run. the suzuki turned out to be the quietest with the mercury a close second. i went with the suzuki for the weight savings of 35 lbs. as well as a cheaper price.

I'd say second best boat show in the country. The only thing I don't like about the Miami show is how spread out it is at different locations. The Lauderdale show is my favorite, everything is in one location.

I never liked the NOLA show.
