You don't have to convert that.

To sight it in:
Put your cross hairs on the target, shoot.
put your cross hairs back on your target and adjust the crosshairs to the hole the 1st shot made.

But tot answer your question ~1.5 mil is 5 MOA

I feel your pain. I'm not sure what you're asking so I'm going to ask a few questions to better understand your predicament.
--Are you saying you are 5" high at 100 yds w/ your current scope elevation setting?
--On the scope's adjustment turret, how many clicks does it take to move the point of impact 1" at 100 yards. Most commonly it's 4 clicks/1". Usually this is marked on the adjustment turret or inside of the turret screw on cap.
--Where do you want your POI to be at 100 yards?

Yea, just do this. No need for math if you aren't doping shots.

1 mil = 3.6 inches at 100 yards.

So a 1.4 mil adjustment (14 clicks if its 1/10mil adjustments) would be a good start.

Red neck bore site it baw. Crack barrel, look through bohole, align scope while bore hole centered on target, proceed to blast basket rack 8pts in a few months.

I use bags. I never liked lead sleds. I think they are really hard on stocks, scopes, and scope mounts since they don't "give" like your shoulder does.

I'm just hearing about the stock problems in the sled

I've never known anybody to actually bust a stock in one, but I do think I trashed a cheap scope in one before. Since then I just use sand bags.

The "one shot" method sounds good to me in theory, but has never worked well for me as I just can't keep my gun still enough.

If this
quote:

1 click = 1/10 MIL

and this
quote:

1 mil = 3.6 inches at 100 yards.

are true, moving the reticle 10 clicks downward should move your POI down 3.6", making you 1.4" high at 100 yards. I don't know what your goal is for POI, but that should put you in the ballpark. If you don't want to use a lead sled (I've never used one either) putting a thin sand bag between the buttstock and your shoulder will reduce some of the felt recoil. BTW, that's about the extent of my "math" capabilities. Good luck and keep us updated

re: sighting in .... I agree with others. Position rifle in a solid stationary rest, shoot at target, then adjust W/E turrets to chase the bullet hole. Shoot other groups and fine tune as needed. If you know your dope (BC, bullet info., velocity, etc.. ) you can download the Istrelok Pro app and it will provide everything you need to make long range shots. See images below

I grew up shooting benchrest competition and currently have 2 rests: Sinclair competition and a Bald Eagle sling-shot. I use rear bags to support the stock.
