Pardon my oxidation. I'm thinking of mounting on left side on that small lip kind of right on the inside of the wood beam under boat on trailer. Can I run the wires to any of those holes?

seriously chad sepnd a little time researching this on the net. You will find lots of good info.
make sure to pay attention to the mounting instructions and why and how the transducers work.
I personally would make sure I could not use the current transducer before I gave up on it. I would then use it for a outboard running depthfinder and would mount my more detailed finder on the trolling motor with transducer there.

It's not hard to do. I put in two last year with no prior experience.
ETA: What kind of boat do you have? I'd like to see an uncovered transom.

Lowrance does have plenty of adapters, Bleeding Purple has a good idea. Cross reference the old model fishfinder to the new.

What is your current sounder and what have you bought? Unlikely that the new lowrance will have two cables from a transom mount transducer. Their units are usually one cable with multiple wires and a link that fits a bus in the center console, then a cable to your screen. Make sure if it is a new lowrance that you have the correct adapters for the bus as they changed their cable links to the bus a couple of years ago.

thats it.
i have detailed instructions on mounting a new one if i can find them. it really is not hard yo do. please do not try to tackle the install on the outside through the transom. no offense but i dont think you have the experience for that right now. if in doubt, call your deler and get a quote for them to rig it for you.
now on the current transducer. that looks like it goes to 2 seperate graphs so be careful with the scisors!!

Outside transom mount really not that difficult, already downloaded the instruction manual on where to and not to mount, i'll have my f-n-law helping me who is a boat person so I feel more comfortable doing it outside than anywhere else. Why everyone doubting my skills.

if you have the option of using thru hull use it. The transom moutn is prone to get knocked out of position and broken off. they are also not perfectly centered on the boat and thus do not stay in constant contact witht he water and have gaps in the imaging.
Transom mount is not that hard, however, you seem thouroghly confused.

That is a duel feed transducer. What it does is that it has 2 wires. 1 feeds the sounder and the second one feed the sounder unit to show surface temp. Look at the plug ends. You might have a tag with the numbers for the ducer.
Now, I have a question to ask that might help you.Does the transducer go all the way thru your hull? Look under were the ducer is mounted. Next question. To me, that ducer looks like it is glue down with silicone. The beding around the ducer, is it soft somewhat? If it is, get some acetone and put it on a rag, put rag over the ducer area and let it sit. Scrap the area little by little and apply more acetone as needed till you can remove the old ducer.
NOTE* Never and I said again NEVER force or pull hard on any transducer wires. You can damage the wire real easy!

The transducer that comes with my GPS unit is a transom mount transducer. But thanks for all the confidence guys.

I do have a temperature reading on the depth gauge.

Does not go thru hull.

Not sure. Is it necessary to take off like the others were saying? May leave it put.
