I'm in Houston and duck hunt Texas regularly, but would like to take some buddies on a hunt in Louisiana this year like I used to do back in school.
Any suggestions? When is the split in LA? When is the season officially over?
Thanks in advance guys! Sitting in the aiport and looking this stuff up on my phone SUCKS.

what part of our great state of La.? If looking @ NELa, try and call Dr. Tom Dansby, Monroe, La.
Or, Phil Robertson, West Monroe, La... His number might be listed under the "Duck Commander".

Gordon Markel out of Monroe,La. He's an awesome guy and has access to a TON of rice fields. We burnt them up everytime we've been with him.

I'll have to consider that.
Anything down South that might be a little closer driving distance?
The last hunt that I did in South LA was in Opelousas over some rice fields and had a blast. I was on an oil company lease, though.

I am new to Houston and thought I would make it through the year not hunting, but I can't. How far out of Houston do you have to get to hunt some ducks and is there any public ground worth trying?

Calcasieu Charters was awesome when we went... Plus its closer to Houston.... Had very nice lodging and food, and it didn't hurt that we killed a lot of ducks!

1hr - 1.5 hrs.
I hunt from Bay City, up through the prairie and into Navasota. I guide hunts for two different outfits, let me know if you're interested. 2nd split starts back up Dec 11th.
The real fun right now is tearing up the geese!

I'd be VERY interested. Can you send your contact info?
Being in the oilfied, I work with a LOT of Aggie engineers that I hunt with regularly. They spend a lot of time in/around College Station... which I know is close to Navasota.
I'd love to start getting some hunts in the books. The last few weeks have been swamped for me and I haven't had much of a chance to get out.

Yes they are. Ryan Lambert does a great job. The blast and cast option is available as well.
For SE LA he and Mike Smith out of Reggio are probably the best with Dee Gohehagen being choice 1B.

Thanks for the help, guys.
If you can think of anyone else... let me know! I'm going to start planning this week.
Also, still waiting on contact info to do a hunt in the Navasota area.
